Privacy policy

byPixelStudio makes websites for local businesses. Here you can read what data we use for that, why, who we share it with and how you can see it or have it deleted. Questions? Email us at info@bypixelstudio.com.

What you send us through the form

When you request a free example, we receive:

We use this to make your example site and to email you about it. We do that because you ask us to. We sell your data to no one.

Public information about your business

For your example site we look at what can already be found publicly about your business: your listing on Google Maps (such as address, phone number, opening hours and photos) and your current website, if you have one. The data Google Maps gives us, such as photos and reviews, we keep for 30 days at most. We copy your business’s address and phone number from it into our system, so that we can contact your business.

When we contact you ourselves

We look for local businesses without a website ourselves, in public sources such as Google Maps. We use the phone number and email address listed there for your business to call or email you with the offer of a free example website. Businesses in Germany we only call, never email unasked. Every first email says where we got your details and how to unsubscribe.

Calls are made by people who work for us, on weekdays during the day. They only see the businesses assigned to them: the name, the town and the phone number, and what happened with that business before. Every time they open a number, we record it.

If you want an example during a call

If you say during a call that you would like an example website, the caller notes the outcome of the call, a short note, your name if you give it, and the email address you give yourself. We use that address to email you the example and then our proposal. That email says that you gave the address by phone and on which day. We do not record calls.

Not being called or emailed

If you say during a call that you do not want to be contacted, or email us that, we stop calling and emailing your business. To do that, we remember that your business must not be contacted. If you would also like us to delete the details of the call, email us; see your rights below.

We keep call notes and call outcomes no longer than needed. At your request we delete them straight away.

If you become a client

For an order we also keep your agreement to our proposal, your payments, the texts and photos you send us and your messages about the site. By law we must keep invoices and payment details for seven years.

Services we use

We work with a few fixed services. They process your data only for us, not for themselves:

Some of these services are based in the United States. Would you like to know which arrangements apply? Email us and we will send them to you.

This website and cookies

This website only sets cookies for measuring our ads if you consent. We use Google Ads and Google Analytics for that (Google Ireland Limited, sometimes also Google LLC in the United States). They then receive, among other things, your IP address, which pages you view and how you came to our website, so that we can see which ads work.

Without your consent we load nothing from Google: your browser makes no contact with Google, no cookies are set and Google measures nothing. On your first visit you choose between Accept and Decline. Declining has no effect on using the website. We remember your choice in your own browser. You can change it here at any time; if you withdraw your consent, we remove Google’s cookies from your browser:

Separately, we count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, without cookies. That way we see how many people view which page and which website they came from. Nothing is stored in your browser and Vercel does not keep your IP address; a visit is only recognised by an anonymous code that expires after a day.

This website is available in Dutch, German and English. On your first visit a functional cookie (site_lang) remembers for a year which language you saw the website in, so that the home page does not send you to another language again. It holds only the language code and we measure nothing with it; such a cookie needs no consent.

The font is on our own server, so your browser does not need to ask anyone else for it.

Your rights

You may see, correct or have deleted the data we hold about you, and you may object to its use. Email us at info@bypixelstudio.com; we reply within 30 days. If you no longer want to be emailed by us, we only remember a code derived from your email address, not the address itself, so that we do not email you again by accident later.

Do you disagree with how we handle your data? You can file a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
